Who is responsible

This policy is issued by KH Global Group LLC, the publisher of the BuildPenny app and of this website. Contact us about privacy at privacy@buildpenny.com.

Data inside the app

What is stored

Everything you enter, including projects, budgets, contractor details, deals, payment requests, payments, site issues, photos, documents and estimates, is stored locally on your device. The app works fully offline.

iCloud

If iCloud is available, that data syncs through your personal, private iCloud database, which is operated by Apple, tied to your Apple ID, and encrypted in transit and at rest. We do not operate a service that holds your project records, and we have no access to them.

Permissions

Camera and photo library access is used only to attach images you choose to your own records. Biometric unlock (Face ID or Touch ID) is provided by Apple's system, and the biometric data never reaches the app. Notifications, if you allow them, are reminders scheduled on your device. All of these are optional.

No tracking

The app contains no advertising, no third-party analytics and no trackers. No app usage data, device identifiers or personal information are sent to us.

Export and deletion

You can export a full JSON backup and a CSV of the ledger at any time from Settings, then Data Export. Deleting a project removes its data from your device and from your private iCloud. Deleting the app removes the local data on that device.

This website

This website is a set of static pages hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (website hosting, security and email forwarding). Like any host, Cloudflare processes your request, including your IP address and standard request headers, to deliver the page and to protect the site against abuse.

We do not run advertising or analytics on this site, set no tracking cookies, and embed no third-party content.

Support and privacy email

If you email support@buildpenny.com or privacy@buildpenny.com, we receive your address, your message and anything you attach. We use it only to answer you and to keep a record of the request, and it passes through Cloudflare Email Routing, which forwards it to our company mailbox hosted by Google (Gmail). We do not use it for marketing.

• Retention: we keep correspondence for as long as we need it to resolve your request, and delete it no later than 24 months after our last exchange, unless the law requires us to keep it longer.
• Please do not send bank details, card numbers, full receipts or your project files unless we ask. A description and a screenshot are usually enough.
• To have correspondence deleted, ask at privacy@buildpenny.com.

Processors we rely on

• Apple (iCloud private database, when you have iCloud enabled), for private iCloud storage and sync of your app data.
• Cloudflare, Inc. (website hosting, security and email forwarding), for hosting and security of this website.
• Google (Gmail), for the mailbox our support and privacy email is forwarded to.

Your choices

You can use the app without iCloud, without granting camera or photo access, and without enabling the app lock. You can export or delete your records from inside the app.

For anything about correspondence you have sent us, contact privacy@buildpenny.com. Depending on where you live, you may have further rights over personal data we hold, and we will help you exercise them.

Changes

If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it and the new version is published here. Material changes are described in the app's release notes.
